Our Story

The seed for HeritageFinds was planted from our desire to preserve Tingguian traditions and heritage through its textile art and weaving. Our vision is to showcase the ingenuity and craftsmanship of our local and indigenous artisans in the Philippines to the world.

Our mission is to create a modern wearable brand that is proudly Filipino. Through our work with community enterprises, weavers and artisans, we hope to keep this indigenous tradition alive and thriving for the next generation.

Our Artisans and Partner Communities

HeritageFinds’ flagship line showcases the textile arts and embroidery of the Tingguian tribe of Abra Province, Philippines. Our partner communities in Abra are mostly from the Ilaud sub-tribe. Loom weaving was traditionally done by women and mothers alongside their other home and agricultural duties.

The Tingguians practice natural dyeing using materials extracted from their natural environments such as leaves, tree bark, and flowers.

Their unique embroidery depicts the symbolisms of the Tingguian way of life and mythological beliefs are part of their heritage craft; revealing a profound connection to land and nature and the world around them.

Weaves and Dreams

Our curated collection features intricate and colorful weaves from Abra Province, also known as inabel, meaning woven fabric in Ilokano. The signature weaves used in our designs are kantarines, binakol, and pinilian. Each are distinct and beautiful.

Our woven pieces are handmade from the skilled hands and creativity of our indigenous and local artisans.
